Grab a coffee, order a pizza, or pick up a gift on August 26, and a slice of what you spend will help feed local students who go hungry on weekends.
That's the pitch behind Shop, Savor, Support, an all-day fundraiser benefiting All Kids Win, a Thurston County nonprofit that delivers weekend food bags to students facing food insecurity.
Who it feeds
All Kids Win serves middle and high school students in the Olympia, Tumwater, and North Thurston school districts, along with K–8 students at Wa He Lut Indian School and K–12 students in Tenino, Rainier, Yelm, and Rochester. Each week, 38 volunteers distribute between 700 and 900 food bags across 49 schools, with additional volunteers assembling the bags at the organization's facility at 665 Woodland Square Loop SE in Lacey.
North Thurston Public Schools lists All Kids Win in its community resources directory as an organization that "discreetly provides food bags to students who need extra support." The City of Lacey awarded the nonprofit $23,125 in its 2026 adopted budget under human and social services grants.
Why it matters now
"With the cost of food going up, the need for weekend food assistance increasing, and many of our supporters needing to tighten their own belts, this fundraiser is more important than ever to our budget," All Kids Win co-chair Kelly Wilson said in the ThurstonTalk post.
The organization, formerly known as Homeless Backpacks Weekend Food Bags, is a locally run 501(c)(3) that keeps every dollar raised in the community.
How to participate
Confirmed participating businesses include Dirty Dave's Pizza Parlor, Giddy-Up Coffee Corral in Tenino, and Olympic Crest Coffee Roasters.
Event director Karlee Keith said a full list will be posted on the event's Facebook page as August 26 approaches.
Businesses choose the percentage or dollar amount they donate. In return, All Kids Win promotes them through social media, email marketing, and community outreach.

Keith said the event is designed to be low-effort for supporters, calling it a chance to make an ordinary Wednesday fun while backing the nonprofit.
