A new cooperative space for local artists and makers opens Saturday, Aug. 15, in downtown Olympia, filling a gallery storefront at 112 4th Ave. E. with a two-day pop-up market.

The Oly Creative Co-Op's grand opening market runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Saturday, Aug. 15–16. Vendors will sell art, jewelry, ceramics, candles, fragrances and thrifted and upcycled goods, according to the co-op's Instagram announcement. The entrance sits between Capital City Guitars and McMenamins Cafe on 4th Avenue.

The co-op describes its mission as creating space for Olympia's creative community to gather, sell work and connect, according to a listing in Oly Arts' weekly calendar. It moves into what had been a gallery space, giving another downtown storefront an active tenant.

The co-op's organizers have not publicly identified themselves by name, and details about vendor fees or the cooperative's membership structure have not been posted online. The group held at least one earlier market at the same address on Saturday, July 11, before this formal grand opening weekend.

Among confirmed vendors is The Gilded Creatrix, a metaphysical goods seller offering ritual oils and tarot readings. The total vendor count has not been announced.

After the grand opening weekend, the co-op plans to keep regular hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to its Facebook page. That schedule would put the space in operation well ahead of Olympia's Fall Arts Walk, set for Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3.

The opening falls on the same Saturday as the Tumwater Artesian Brewfest at Tumwater Valley Golf Course, giving the area two distinct draws for shoppers and browsers on Aug. 15. Doors open at 10 a.m.
