FC Olympia's women's soccer squad wraps its 2026 USL W season Friday, June 26, with a Pride Night match against the Portland Cherry Bombs at Well 80 Pitch at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
The Artesians, now in their fourth USL W season, enter the finale riding a 2-0 shutout win over the Tacoma Stars Women, powered by goalkeeper Azul Alvarez. Alvarez, who plays for Baylor University and is a member of the Mexico U23 Women's National Team, recorded the clean sheet.
Early arrivals score a Pride-themed rainbow soccer cleat bag. A beer garden, food trucks, an inflatable soccer field for kids, free raffles, and USL soccer ball giveaways round out the evening. All kids get in free.
The match caps a week of soccer events across Thurston County tied to the FIFA World Cup group stage. Downtown Olympia's Port Plaza hosts a FIFA Fan Zone on Wednesday, June 24 (Canada vs. Switzerland) and Thursday, June 25 (USA vs. Turkey), with large-screen broadcasts, food trucks, and appearances by former Seattle Sounders. Zach Scott, who played 349 games across 15 seasons for the Sounders organization, leads a Q&A session Wednesday.
Federal Way native Kelyn Rowe, a 12-year MLS veteran with four U.S. Men's National Team caps, signs autographs Thursday. Tickets are available at thurstonchamber.com/fanzone.
On Saturday, June 27, Community Soccer Day runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Capital Soccer Fields, 2832 93rd Avenue in Olympia. FC Olympia partners with Black Hills Football Club, Tumwater Soccer Club, and Thurston County Youth Soccer for the all-day event.
