Dozens of nonprofits and government agencies will set up shop on Lakeridge Drive SW in Olympia on Wednesday, August 19, offering free immunizations, health screenings, haircuts, pet grooming, and a hot dog lunch — all without an appointment or a fee.
The third annual Thurston County Resource Hub Block Party runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to anyone in the community, according to a July 14 news release published in the Nisqually Valley News. No registration is required.
The event is organized by the Thurston County Resource Hub in partnership with ABOVE Home Health, Evergreen Direct Credit Union, and Capital Recovery Center. The Olympia Host Lions Club will grill and serve free hot dogs.

- Childhood immunizations for children ages 3–18
- Blood pressure and health screenings
- A blood donation drive
- Veterinary care and pet grooming
- Haircuts and showers
- Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Mobile Services
- Information on healthcare, senior services, housing, and financial resources
- Low-vision resources
- Raffle prizes
A growing track record
Previous editions of the block party have connected more than 500 residents face-to-face with service providers, according to a Thurston County press release issued Tuesday, June 23. The county's release described the event as the largest social services fair in county history, and the program received a 2026 National Association of Counties Achievement Award.
The Resource Hub itself operates year-round at 929 Lakeridge Drive SW, inside the Thurston County Courthouse Complex, serving people with behavioral health needs who are involved in the justice system. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the county's website.
Year-round partners at the hub include Capital Recovery Center, Family Support Center, Providence Behavioral Health, Molina Healthcare, PacMountain Workforce Development, Intercity Transit, and the Thurston County Food Bank.
