FC Olympia is opening its new indoor soccer venue to the public after a two-year hiatus from indoor play.
Oly Arena, at 7960 Center St. SW near the Olympia Regional Airport, hosts a public open house Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The weekend features pickup games, facility tours and a fundraiser tournament with Austin Kelley Cup Awards in each division, according to FC Olympia's announcement.
Proceeds go toward new turf installation and indoor center nets. The Oly Soccer Foundation, FC Olympia's parent nonprofit, is asking 1,000 people to each donate $10 through a givebutter.com campaign to cover what the club calls the most expensive project in its 12-year history.
The open house caps a multi-year effort to find a new home for Olympia indoor soccer.
The Artesians lost their playing space after The Evergreen State College did not renew the club's indoor lease.
Club President Ryan Perkins led the search for a viable warehouse before landing the Center Street location, where GGCW Renovations LLC and Jason Smith handled installation of boards, ceiling nets, goal frames and glass paneling.
"This new indoor facility will be a place where kids and adults throughout our community will come together, stay active and grow to love indoor soccer," Perkins wrote in an Aug. 12 announcement of the arena's opening. "… The community really kept this club and mission alive to get to this point."
Regular programming begins Monday, Sept. 21. Leagues span ages 3 through over-50, including youth divisions from U9 to U15, men's open, women's open, co-ed, over-35 and over-50 brackets.
The Artesians will also return to the Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL), facing Pacific Northwest clubs including teams from Portland, Bellingham and the Tacoma Stars. Men's pro-am tryouts are set for Tuesday, Sept. 22, and Thursday, Sept. 24, at the arena. Women's tryouts follow in late October.
The Yelm Community Blog also reported on the fundraiser tournament. Single-match and season tickets for Artesian home games will be available, with the arena featuring a VIP viewing area, beer garden and family concessions on match days.
FC Olympia was founded as an indoor club in 2014 before expanding to outdoor play and signing with USL Two and USL W. The WISL schedule for the 2026-27 season has not been released.
