The Olympia School District Board of Directors will hold an Extended Graduation Ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Knox 111 Administrative Center Boardroom in Olympia.

The ceremony is open to the public. A regular board meeting follows at 6:30 p.m.

Both events take place at 111 Bethel St. NE, according to the district's announcement. The building, which normally closes at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, will reopen its doors at 5:50 p.m. for attendees.

The district has not specified what the Extended Graduation Ceremony will include. The district has used a similar pre-meeting recognition format before, honoring National Board Certified Teachers at a 6 p.m. ceremony in April 2025.

Public comment

The board has set aside time for public comment during the regular meeting. Residents who want to speak must sign up through the district's online form between 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23. Sign-ups are required for both in-person and Zoom comments.

The final list of speakers will be posted the evening before the meeting on the district's BoardDocs page. Specific agenda items for the regular meeting beyond the ceremony and public comment were not available as of Tuesday, Sept. 22.
