The Pioneer Bowl is back on.

Tumwater will host Black Hills at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, after the Tumwater School District canceled the rivalry game Friday, Oct. 23, because of a social media threat.

Tumwater Athletics announced the rescheduled kickoff on X on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The regularly scheduled C-team contest between the two schools will not be made up.

The district called off the original Friday night game after a teenager posted a threat on social media that afternoon, Fox 13 Seattle reported.

Tumwater police spent six to seven hours searching for the 14-year-old suspect before locating them around 1 a.m. Saturday, according to Fox 13.

A family member and a school resource officer helped track down the suspect, who is in the custody of Thurston County Youth and Family Services.

By Saturday morning, the Tumwater High School field had reopened for elementary school games, Fox 13 reported.

Monday's game is a 2A Evergreen District matchup with postseason implications. The Thunderbirds enter 8-0 overall and 2-0 in district play, tied atop the standings with WF West, according to MaxPreps.

Tumwater has outscored opponents 358-50 this season and is ranked No. 6 in Washington.

Black Hills comes in at 3-4 overall and 0-2 in district. The Wolves have lost two straight, including a 41-7 defeat to WF West on Oct. 16.
